First edition, first issue. 4to. Red cloth elaborately decorated in gilt to upper cover, all edges red. Thirty two glorious colour illustrations with captioned tissue guards. A good copy, upper cover bright, contents beautiful, but sadly the spine gilt is completely tarnished.
Goble's illustrations to these stories are beautifully rendered in strong bright colours, and he faithfully represents Eastern themes in a romantic manner whilst remaining true to the tale he is illustrating.
