First edition. Original buff pictorial cloth blocked in green, orange and black. Four black and white plates by H.M. Brock. A very good copy of a fragile book, the spine tanned, with some abrasion to the pictorial cloth and a couple of gatherings a little tender. Ownership inscription to the first blank, and bookseller's label to the front pastedown, with their "sold" stamp to the verso of front free endpaper.
Wodehouse's first adult novel, which sees the first appearance of Stanley Featherstoneheaugh Ukridge. It ranks among the very scarcest of Wodehouse's first editions, in our experience toe to toe with The Man With Two Left Feet and exceeded only by The Globe By The Way Book.
