Second edition (first commercially published edition, preceded by the privately printed edition of 200 copies). Original green cloth with gilt vignette to the upper cover and lettered in gilt on the spine. Top edge gilt. Seven black and white plates and numerous wood engravings in the text. A very good copy indeed, with a little wear to the spine ends and a faint mark to the upper cover. Bookplate of F. Hornsby Wright to the front pastedown.
Thought by Murdoch to be "one of the masterpieces of golf literature. It is also one of the most important contributions to the library of golf".
