First edition. 4to. Light brown buckram, with gilt lettering and vignettes. Forty four colour plates mounted onto brown paper, all under captioned tissue guards. There are also eleven black and white drawings. A very good copy indeed, one plate with a little marking, others all perfect. Previous owner's initials beautifully illuminated on initial blank page.
This is a wonderful selection of Rackham's paintings. The illustrations in this book are split into sections which include: pictures of little people, classics, some fairy tales, some children, grotesque and fantastic and a section entitled "various".
