First edition illustrated with colour plates by Arthur Rackham. 8vo. Blue moiré silk cloth with elaborate gilt embossed decoration to both upper cover and spine. Top edge gilt. Pictorial endpapers with line drawings, one man distinctly reminiscent of the artist himself. Twelve colour plates with captions printed below. Numerous line drawings in the text. A fine copy, with the slightest trace of wear to the spine ends and light foxing to the end papers. Frontispiece has a small, marginal closed tear to the mount not affecting the illustration.
