First edition. Two volumes. 8vo. Original blue/green cloth with gilt lettering and gilt stamped illustration to upper cover. The volumes include many illustrations, including 16 in colour, as well as folding maps to the rear of each volume. A near fine set, bright and free form the usual foxing. Contemporary owner's bookplate and signature to front endpaper of each volume. Uncommonly good condition.
