First edition. 8vo. Original red cloth with titles and vignette in gilt, top edge gilt, in original dustwrapper printed in red and green. A near fine copy, with a little spotting to the fore-edge, in a very good dustwrapper which shows light chipping to the spine ends and corners a couple if internally repaired closed tears. Spine slightly tanned and a little fraying to the head of the rear panel, but a presentable example of a very rare dustwrapper.
Rewards and Fairies is a sequel to Puck of Pook's Hill, but most importantly it contains the first appearance of Kipling's most famous poem, "If -". Most uncommon in a dustwrapper.
