Deluxe issue. Early reprint in special publisher's binding. 8vo. Original publisher's green morocco over limp boards with gilt vignettes and elaborate decoration to the spine. Gilt titles, top edge gilt and decorative endpapers. Eight full page colour plates and pictorial endpapers by Charles Robinson. A very good copy, clean and crisp with bright gilt but with fading to the spine and edges of the covers. Bookplate and gift inscription to the verso of the front endpaper.
A most unusual and attractive issue, being a page for page reprint of the first edition, but in a special binding with gilded top edge. There were no 'deluxe' or special issues of the first edition and this is the only copy in such a binding that we have encountered.
