Hamlet Prince of Denmark
Selwyn & Blount Ltd., 1922.
First edition. Large 4to. White buckram spine, lettered in gilt, with black paper covered boards stamped with gilt lettering and green and gilt design. In the original dustwrapper, which has a stunning black and white illustration on the upper panel. Pictorial endpapers, with a little offsetting. Fifteen full page black and white plates, as well as many other illustrations in the text. A near fine copy, uncommonly bright. In a very good dustwrapper, which has nicks to the spine ends and corners, but remains an attractive example of a fragile and scarce item.
Austen's style in this work is very reminiscent of Aubrey Beardsley.
