Colour Photography and Other Recent Developments of the Art of the Camera
The Studio 1908 Colour Photography and Other Recent Developments of the Art of the Camera
The Studio, 1908.
4to. Half bound in burgundy morocco, lettered in gilt, for Pander & Son, their name on the upper cover. Plate 8, an autochrome (coloured) photograph portrait of Jessie King, by Craig Annan. A very good copy, some wear to the edges.
Patented in 1903 by the Lumiere Brothers, and marketed in 1907, the autochrome process was the first really practicable and commercially successful process for colour photography. This Studio publication is, therefore, an interesting early work on the history of photography.
