First edition. 8vo. Original green cloth with titles in gilt to spine and blind stamped to upper cover, in pictorial dustwrapper. Pictorial endpapers, with a map of the North Polar Expedition. Illustrated throughout in line by Arthur Ransome. A very good copy indeed, book is crisp and bright, with slight spotting to the page edges. The pictorial dustwrapper is unusually bright, with a couple of small chips to the corners and one small area of loss to the rear joint.
The very uncommon fourth title in the Swallows and Amazons series.
