1934.
A single sheet of Easton Court Hotel letter paper responding to a request to talk at the second Sunday Times Book Exhibition. "I was unable to attend the last + should therefore be grateful for further information. What number and what kind of audience is likely to attend these talks? What other writers are talking? What advantage accrues to the talker? - i.e. is he fully reported + 'publicised' in your papers, are his book given any particular prominence in display, are they for sale in the exhibition, is he paid any fee for his pains etc..." Small loss to top right corners, very good.
The Sunday Times Book Exhibition was a precursor to the 'literary festival'; the second took place between the 12 and the 26 November, 1934.
