Norah Mary Edmondson is the author of The Lavender Garden, published in 1929 for which Beatrix Potter provided the introduction. Pig Robinson was published the following year, and with their colaboration doubtless fresh in her mind Beatrix Potter sent this copy of her new book to her friend and fellow writer.
"Although The Tale Of Little Pig Robinson was the last of Beatrix Potter's stories to be published in the Peter Rabbit series, it was one of the first she ever wrote. The earliest association with the story is found in a letter written to her father from Ilfracombe in 1883 when she was seventeen years of age;" (Linder p.256). Writing shortly before her death Potter noted that she "found an old draft of Pig Robinson's first chapters dated 1893". Also included is a 1929 early issue of Edmondson's book in dustwrapper.
