First edition. Large 4to. Tan cloth with spine label lettered in gilt and black titles and vignette on the upper cover. 20 beautifully atmospheric colour plates of scenes around the city of Venice, as well as numerous small line drawings in red accompanying the text. A very good copy, with a little spotting to the page edges and previous gift inscription. The dustwrapper is brown with dark lettering, it is in very good condition, but has a small chip to the lower spine.
A charming book, Brangwyn's paintings of Venice are vibrant, full of rich colours which seem to really bring the city to life and revive a host of memories for those who have visited.
