Almost A Novel
INSCRIBED BY BLUNDEN TO SIEGFRIED SASSOON
We'll Shift Our Ground Almost A Novel
Cobden-Sanderon, 1933.
First edition. Original blue cloth lettered in gilt. Authors' presentation copy, inscribed by both author's to Siegfried Sassoon, "[in Blunden's hand]Siegfried Sassoon with the constant blessing of Edmund Blunden Fen. 25, 1933 [in Norman's hand] + Sylva Norman - + the apologies of the latter for spoiling Edmund's good work." A very good copy indeed, with a little fading to the spine and trifling wear to one corner.
A fine association linking two prominent war poets. Both served in the Western Front during the first World War and remained friends, sharing a correspondence running to over 1000 letters, mostly on the mutually interesting subjects of poetry, the countryside and cricket, until Sassoon's death in 1967.
