First edition. 8vo. Red cloth with blue lettering in pictorial dustwrapper. Pictorial endpapers show a plan of Otwell-on-Ouse and the location of One End Street. Illustrated in black and white by the author. A near fine book in a very good dustwrapper indeed, which has some fading to the spine and some unnecessary reinforcement to the rear.
This is the author's very scarce first novel. Winner of the Carnegie Gold Medal, the story has been dramatised many times on the radio.
