First edition. Original black and olive cloth with onlaid colour illustration, lettered in gilt to spine and upper cover. Coloured frontispiece and four monochrome illustrations by Will Grefé. A near fine copy with two letters on the spine turned green with age and contemporary gift inscription to front endpaper.
Published in the UK later that year as A Gentleman of Leisure.
