Lady Cottington's Pressed Fairy Book
Pavilion Books, 1994.
First edition. 4to. Mock leather covers, marbled endpapers, protective seal and pressed fairy book mark. Lots of colour plates of pressed fairies, in the same style as a child's pressed flower scrap book. A fine copy of this delightful and witty book.
A whimsical book born from the collaboration between fantasy illustrator Brian Froud and Monty Python's Terry Jones, this fictional diary of Lady Cottington parodies Arthur Conan Doyle's belief in the Cottingley fairies, with the eponymous diarist aiming to prove the existence of fairies by capturing them between the pages of her book.
