First edition. 8vo. Original red cloth with gilt lettering and vignettes. All edges gilt. Four full page black and white illustrations, plus numerous illustrations in the text by H.J. Ford and Lancelot Speed. A very good copy, fading to the spine and minor wear to spine ends and occasional scattered foxing to pages.
The second of Andrew Lang's coloured fairy books, which includes, amongst others, The Twelve Dancing Princesses, Jack and the Beanstalk and Snowdrop (later known as Snow White and the Seven Dwarves)
