A single bi-fold sheet in the form of a landscape greetings card with a reproduction of a painting by Basil Blackshaw to the cover and Heaney's poem printed within. Inscribed by Seamus Heaney to Rosemary Goad, "Rosemary, love from us all at Christmas, Seamus, Marie + family". A fine copy.

This is the poem's first appearance. It was later published in the Ballyscullion Parish Bulletin of December 1999. It was published in Electric Light (Faber, 2001) in a revised form, as the third part of the poem The Loose Box.
