First edition. Publisher's patterned silk portfolio, with title label to upper cover. Containing; the text volume in printed paper wrappers, folio (341 x 214mm), [24pp], printed in black letter with orange borders; a full suite of twelve colour illustrations (240 x 153mm), each mounted on marbled paper covered board (376 x 257mm), and under attractively captioned tissue guards. A very good set, some wear to the portfolio, with the joints splitting. The text volume is in fine condition. The colour plates are also fine, though the final tissue guard has been trimmed and reattached.
The Indian illustrator, Haldar, was an assistant of Rabrindath Tagore.
