Charmingly illustrated Christmas gift edition with illustrations by Hudson. 4to. In original blue cloth with elaborate gilt design and titles. Twelve colour plates mounted under tissue guards, plus numerous line drawings in the text, printed in orange and black. A very good copy, with bright covers and some spotting to the page edges and endpapers. Gift inscription to the endpaper verso.
A strikingly beautiful gift edition of Alice, with Hudson's page headers in black and orange providing a decidedly Art Deco feel to the text. The colour plates are vibrant and slightly whacky.
