Top edge gilt. Fifty colour plates and fifty black and white plates, all under captioned tissue guards, plus 400 line drawings in the text. A very good copy, bright covers, but faded spine. Bookplate to front pastedown.
One of 500 copies, originally published at £2 2s (2 guineas).
This is a most attractive volume, profusely illustrated it described the experiences of author and artist in nineteen countries, with some entertaining anecdotes, including the author falling down a well. Countries visited include: Mexico, France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Morocco, Turkey, Palestine, China, Kashmir and Burma.
