Forty eight colour and 12 sepia illustrations by Yoshio Markino A very good copy, in a good dustwrapper which has a long split to the spine repaired with tape to the verso.
Markino was a Japanese artist who spent much of his time in London, his paintings done in a style similar to the Japanese prints and watercolours of the time. After the success of The Colour of London, in 1907 publishers asked Markino to travel to France to produce an equally beautifully illustrated book of Paris.
