The Outsider

CAMUS, Albert

CAMUS, Albert The Outsider

Hamish Hamilton, 1946.

First UK edition. Grey-green cloth, lettered in gilt on the spine, in original pictorial dustwrapper designed by Edward Bawden. A very good copy, date stamp to endpaper and spotting to the page edges, in a very good, price-clipped, dustwrapper which shows a little wear to the spine ends and corners, but remains bright and attractive.

This is the first English language edition of Camus' first book, published in French in 1942, under the title "L'Etranger". It is one of Conolly's 100 Key Books of the Modern Movement.
