First English edition. Original teal cloth blocked in silver and red, in stylish pictorial dustwrapper by Michael Ayrton. A near fine copy, pages slightly musty, and a little fading to the spine (through the dustwrapper) as usual, in a very good dustwrapper indeed with minor wear to the spine ends and closed tears to the base of the folds. An attractive copy.
Camus' second novel, originally published in Paris as La Peste, now regarded as an existentialist classic.
