The upper cover blocked in blind and decorated with gilt vignettes. Four black and white plates by Otto Speckter, as well as line drawings in the text. A fine copy, just minor bumping to the corners and front hinge slightly tender. A remarkable copy of this delightful book of fairy tales.
First appearance in English of Andersen's longest and most complex fairy story, The Snow Queen.
