Number 90 of 265 copies, signed by Simon, bound for the publishers by Zaehnsdorf in full burgundy morocco with colour leaf onlays and grapes in gilt to the upper cover. Raised bands and gilt titles to the spine, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers and gilt embossed dentelles. Sixty colour plates and 21 maps in the text. A fine copy, with just a hint of fading to the spine.
The grandfather of wine writers, Simon wrote over a hundred books and pamphlets on wine.
