Original pen, ink and wash on paper. 77 x 133 mm. Signed in pencil at the bottom right and on the reverse. In very good condition.
Mr Benn originally appeared in a series of children's books which became the basis for an animated BBC series of the same name in the early 1970's.
Usually a conservatively dressed gentleman, Mr Benn left his London home dressed in a jacket and tie and his bowler hat. Paying a visit to a fancy dress shop the shop keeper would invite him try an outfit, which transported Mr Benn to another world, whether it be Native America, space travel or Palaeolithic times. The adventure would end when the shopkeeper stepped back into the changing room.
