First English edition. Original blue cloth lettered in navy to the spine, in the uncommon dustwrapper. A very good copy in a very good example of the rare dustwrapper, tanned to the spine with some dustiness to the panels and wear to the corners.
Translated by Willa and Edna Muir, the first appearance in English of Kafka's most famous book didn't "sell more than a few hundred copies" in the 1930s according to biographer and scholar Ritchie Robertson. The first edition is now rare, especially so in the dustwrapper.
