WITH LENGTHY INSCRIPTION FROM THE AUTHOR
Farewell to Cricket
Hodder & Stoughton, 1950.
First edition. Original green cloth lettered in gilt in pictorial dustwrapper. Author's presentation copy, with an inscription filling the front endpaper, "Dear Mr Pocock, Perhaps this will remind you here + there of the happy days together - of the National Liberal Club and the print and the stalls at Adelaide. With warmest regards Yours Don" Black and white photographic illustrations throughout. A very good copy with some damp staining to the boards in a very good dustwrapper, which shows a little wear to the corners and foxing to the rear panel and flaps.
The autobiography of the most successful batsman of all time, whose outperformance against all who came before and after is virtually unparalleled in all sport.
Whilst signed copies of this book are sometimes found, genuine presentation copies with lengthy inscriptions are rare.
