First edition in miniature. 4.2cm x 2.7cm. Bound in full teal morocco with yapp edges, all edges gilt, gilt title to spine, with a miniature magnifying glass in the front pocket. Frontispiece in line and twenty-seven further full page line illustrations. A near fine copy, with minor external rubbing. Previous ownership inscription to the verso of the front free endpaper.
This is the first edition of Bryce's miniature complete bible.
David Bryce of Glasgow (1845-1923) used photolithography to become one of the world's most prolific and successful makers of miniature books. He published over 40 miniature titles.
His bibles were carried by British soldiers throughout the empire.
