First collected edition. Four volumes, all finely bound in contemporary dark green morocco, with raised bands and gilt decoration to the panels. Gilt titles to spine. Borders to covers ruled in gilt and blind with fine gilt scroll. Edges and dentelles decorated in gilt. Endpapers and all edges marbled. Engraved frontispiece portrait of Shelley after W. Finden. A fine set, crisp and bright with just a hint of wear to the corners. A beautifully preserved example of a fine nineteenth century binding.
Contains an introduction and copious notes by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley. This set also contains a number of works published for the first time, collected from Shelley's manuscripts, including "England in 1819".
