Engraved frontispiece portrait of Sterne after Sir Joshua Reynolds. Separate steel engraved title pages for each of the nine volumes of Tristram Shandy and each of the other works. A fine set, crisp and clean.
Sterne's most famous work, The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, is now noted for its innovative development of the novel and regarded as an influence on modernist writers such as Joyce and Woolf.
