The Lawless Roads

A Mexican Journey

GREENE, Graham

GREENE, Graham The Lawless Roads A Mexican Journey

Longman's, 1939.

First edition, first issue. Primary binding of original red cloth with gilt lettering to spine, in red and yellow dustwrapper lettered in black. End papers showing the map of the Mexican Gulf, eight plates of photographs. A fine copy in a very good dustwrapper indeed with a slightly tanned spine and covers and minor wear to head of the spine and corners.

An account of Greene's trip to Mexico during 1938 and a study of the effects of the government's campaign of forced anti-Catholic secularisation. The same visit yielded his novel, The Power and The Glory.
