Finely bound by the Guild of Women-Binders in full blue morocco with raised bands and gilt lettering to spine and a stylish art nouveau design of linear gilt rules with floral and foliate motifs to covers and spine. All edges gilt. Six engraved plates by Richard Westall. A fine copy, with some foxing to preliminaries and plates.
The binding is signed Guild of Women-Binders on the front turn-in. The style and tools used on the binding are reminiscent of designs by Constance Karslake and Florence de Rheims.
