First edition. 4to. Publisher's white cloth lettered in black with blue vignettes to upper cover and spine. Twenty-four of Clarke's stunning colour and black and white full page plates. A very good copy, the covers a little dusty with some light scattered foxing throughout.
This is one of the most sought after and elusive of Clarke's works. Containing such popular fairy tales as Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty it's illustrations have a magical quality. Clarke's style, very reminiscent of Nielsen, is seen at its best, with the combination of colour and black and white. There are no UK reprints of this title nor was a limited edition printed.
