Green cloth with lettering and art nouveau design, portion of the front panel of the dustwrapper laid in. 40 full page illustrations, 16 of which are colour, as well as lots of black and white illustrations in the text. A very good copy, spine faded, the binding a little shaken.
Harry Clarke was a Dublin born artist, who began his career as a stained glass designer. As well as his success in the field of stained glass design he became a prominent book illustrator. Stories in this book include: The Tinder Box; Thumbelina; The Little Match Girl; The Hardy Tin Soldier; The Emperor's New Clothes and others.
