A FINE COPY
The Tower
Macmillan, 1928.
First edition. Original green cloth, with a design by Thomas Sturge Moore blocked in gilt of the titular Tower, Yeats's Ballylee Castle, reflected in a pool of water, in the original pictorial dustwrapper of the same design. A fine copy, glistening and unopened but for a single gathering, in a very near fine dustwrapper, remarkably crisp with just a touch of wear to the base of the spine which is marginally toned, and a small pencil notation to the upper panel.
An exceptional copy of a work that contains "the greatest poetry of Yeats in his difficult later manner... [It] constitutes a peak in English poetry" (Connolly, 100 Key Books Of The Modern Movement)
