First edition. 8vo. Red cloth, lettered and decorated in gilt on the spine and upper cover.. All edges gilt. Pictorial endpapers, 12 tipped in colour plates, under captioned tissue guards, and many black and white plates and line drawings in the text by Charles Robinson. A near fine copy, cloth bright and gilt gleaming, with a tiny closed tear to the top of the spine, and some light spotting to the interior.
A delightful fairy tale about a little girl who longs to be freed from the restrictions of childhood and free to swim with the fish and explore the garden. The appearance of a fairy in her room one night introduces her to all sorts of adventures.
