First edition. 4to. Dark blue cloth, lettered in red, over blue papered boards, lettered in navy, in the original pictorial dustwrapper. Colour frontis, from a watercolour by Brian Cook, and black and white photographic illustrations throughout. A near fine copy, in a very good dustwrapper indeed.
Eyston was a British racing driver who broke the land speed record 3 times. Campbell writes of this book that it "should be something of a milestone in the literature of motor-racing and the development of the internal combustion engine" [Foreword]
