Valuations

Written valuations can be undertaken for insurance or probate or simply for personal interest.

We can value a single book or a whole library, and each book will be collated and a full written catalogue description will be provided. If you have books you are looking to sell then a formal valuation is not usually the most appropriate course of action. Please refer to our section on selling books to us.

If you are interested in having a book valued, we suggest a free initial verbal assessment of whether the book is likely to have sufficient value to merit a full valuation. Should you decide to proceed with the valuation we will give you an estimate of the cost in advance. Fees for valuation work are charged at an hourly rate and estimates can be furnished in advance. The current minimum charge is £75.

Please note that in all cases we will need to physically see the book in order to give any assessments and that no valuations of any sort can be conducted by phone or email.
