The second edition. Three volumes. Bound in contemporary half calf over marbled boards, some time neatly rebacked. Illustrated throughout with 24 full page steel engraved plates by George Cruikshank. Corners and boards worn, heavy foxing to some plates. A very good copy.
One of Dickens' best known and most enduring works.
This set is probably bound from early first edition sheets with new title pages as it has the 'fireside plate' in volume three that was supressed in the first edition.
