New edition, the first with original photographs. Original blue cloth, elaborately decorated in gilt with round photographic onlay to upper cover. All edges gilt. Fifteen plates of original mounted photographs by Francis Frith. One hundred and forty woodcuts in the text. A very good copy, neatly rebacked, cloth and gilt a little dulled and rubbed.
First published in 1859, the addition of the photographs make this the scarcest and most desirable edition of this work.
