First edition. Red boards lettered in gilt and yellow printed dustwrapper. Inscribed on the front endpaper, "To Foy/ a mackerel of a sort - possibly a little over-salted / with love from Daphne, April 1954." A very good copy in a very good dustwrapper with a little wear to the corners.
PROVENANCE: From the library of Foy Quiller-Couch, daughter of Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch and close friend of Du Maurier.
