First edition, deluxe issue. 4to. Number 152 of 350 copies, signed by Dulac. 4to. Original white buckram elaborately decorated in blue and gilt. Decorative title page and 15 mounted colour plates. The illustrations in this book are in deep and vibrant colours. A near fine copy, with just very slight dustiness to the spine and an ink mark to the margin of page 34.
This book is a handsome production, which gathers stories from the various allied nations, including "Snegorotchka", "Ivan and the Chestnut Horse", "Fire Bird"(Russia); "Urashima Taro" (Japan); "The Story of a Bird Feng" (China), plus various French, Irish and British tales. Dulac's illustrations provide the perfect accompaniment with in deep, vibrant colours conveying mystic and exotic scenes.
