First edition. Large 8vo. Green cloth elaborately decorated in gilt to the boards and spine. All edges gilt. Three hundred and two wood cuts in the text, showing views of the Thames, its flora, fauna and people. A very good copy, small abrasion to the front joint and a little wear to the edges.
A beautiful production by Victorian book designer, John Leighton. His elaborate design captures the grandeur of the Thames and its depiction by Samuel and Anna Hall.
