Photographic frontis portrait of the author; pictorial title page with drawings of Chateau Lafitte [sic.] and Chateau Margaux; nineteen black and white plates, including maps. A folding facsimile contract between Lord Nelson and Woodhouse & Co. placing an order for "five hundred pipes of the best Marsala Wine to be delivered... without loss of time." A near fine bright copy. A little foxing to the page edges, with an ownership inscription to the front endpaper verso.
Includes chapters on Port, Sherry, Madeira and Champagne, as well as the wines of France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece and Australia.
