Thornton Butterworth, 1932.
First edition. Publisher's red and grey speckled cloth, lettered in blue. Frontispiece and twelve further Wauvian line drawings by Mark Ogilvie-Grant. A near fine crisp copy, with a little fading to the spine.
Mitford's second book. A comic novel summed up by her biographer as "frolicsome." Indeed according to her sister Mitford spent months giggling by the fire as she penned this story. It is now a perfect festive treat.
