First edition with illustrations by E.H. Shepard. 8vo. Original dark green cloth with gilt vignettes on upper cover and titles on the spine. Pictorial end papers by Shepard. Illustrated throughout in line. A very good copy indeed, bright and crisp with a little wear to the head of the spine and a significant gift inscription occupying most of the front blank.
First published in 1908, this story first appeared in 1931 with Shepard's illustrations, which have gone on to become inextricably linked to the tale.
